UZURI
An experience like never before

ASAC's DNA all in one event
Uzuri is a celebration of the beauty of African cultures. The spirit that makes Africa so special, beautiful, and united is represented through this event.
What is Uzuri, actually?

In the search of event that would start off Black History month 2011 and give a change of routine, the first edition of Uzuri started as a fashion and dance show in the Concordia Theatre. What the executive team did not knew at the time, is that Uzuri would be a legacy in ASAC's DNA fabric.
A journey that started in 2011

Over a decade of excellence
Uzuri, meaning beauty, continues to evolve along the years and executive teams all while reinforcing the meaning of community. What was once known as a variety show to start off Black History Month has now turned into a Gala appreciating the beauty of African cultures through our poets, singers, fashion, and you, our ASAC family.

Draped in Culture
Weaving our story through fabric
Through fashion, art, and performance, Uzuri brings culture to life in every detail, creating an atmosphere where tradition meets innovation. From the iconic wax fabric to the elegance of kente, it is no lie that Africa is draped in culture. Draped in Culture celebrates the beauty of our identity, stories, and style told by the handwoven fabrics and the colours applied to our clothes.
